A worldwide network of architect-designed properties, each built in response to its site.
You own a share in one property,
with access across the network.
Not a single destination, but a set of locations, each shaped by its context and connected through a consistent approach to space, food, and time.
Materials are sourced from the site. Food follows the season. Each building is developed in direct relation to its surroundings.
Eight cast-in-place concrete units positioned along the cliffs above Playa Mermejita. Walls 400–500 mm thick provide thermal mass, cooling the interiors naturally. Tableware is sourced from San Bartolo Coyotepec. A seasonal chef rotates every three months.
Eight units arranged across a volcanic landscape overlooking Kagoshima Bay. Structures are built from a hybrid of concrete and local stone, with deep overhangs to manage rain and sun. Interior elements are fabricated from cedar, local tile, and assembled using traditional Japanese joinery. A seasonal chef rotates every three months, working with regional seafood, rice, root vegetables, and fermented products.
Six to eight units set within the dehesa — ancient cork oak and holm oak across pale earth, one of the most biodiverse landscapes in Europe. Rammed earth and local stone construction. Ibérico pork from the surrounding farms, wild herbs, and the local wine tradition. A seasonal chef rotates every three months.
Six to eight units positioned within the Sonoran desert. Structures are defined by thick walls and recessed openings to control heat and light. Exterior surfaces are mineral-based and designed to weather over time. A seasonal chef rotates every three months.
A stake in a single property. Access to the entire network.
Access to the network without ownership.
This started as a conversation between a few of us — architects, designers, chefs — thinking about how we actually want to travel, and what it means to have a place somewhere.
Most of the spaces we care about sit empty a lot of the time. At the same time, access to them feels increasingly out of reach. We kept coming back to that.
Racecar is an attempt to structure things differently.
Each place is shared by a small number of people. When it's not in use, time opens up across the network. It's a way to spend time in well-considered spaces without needing to fully own or maintain them, while still having a real stake in something.
It's early, and we're still building it carefully.
